FSAV - Pneumatic Switch
Description
The FSAV is a key driven pneumatic valve suitable for the isolation or switching of air to a maximum pressure of 10bar. The AV is supplied with either a 3 port or 5 port valve dependant on the application, and can be supplied in standard brass or stainless steel format, making it suitable for use in standard or harsh corrosive environments. The unit is supplied suitable for mounting into an existing panel or for surface mounting within its own IP65 rated enclosure.
Operation
3 Port - With the key retained in the lock portion the air supply is on and the exhaust port closed. Rotation and subsequent removal of the key will close the supply to the machine and open the exhaust port. The valve condition cannot be changed without the correctly coded key.

5 Port - With the key retained in the lock portion the air supply flows through one path of a possible two. Rotation and subsequent removal of the key will change the air flow to the second path. The valve condition cannot be changed without the correctly coded key.
Typical System
The AV is designed to operate as part of an integrated safety system, controlling access to hazardous areas. A typical example of machine isolation and access control is shown below.
System Description
The removal of the key in the AV, closes the supply to the machine and open the exhaust port. The valve exhausts to safety. The machine is now in a safe condition. This key is then used to unlock the interlock on the access door. The guard can only be opened when the air supply has been switched into a safe condition.
