| Description |
| The AIE is a double key access interlock suitable for use on hinged and sliding doors. The interlock has an open cavity design and is manufactured in a durable stainless steel and comes with the stainless steel figure or Q type lock portions. The lock is ideally suited to use in harsh or corrosive environments where the lock is subject to heavy use. Typical industries using the AIE are food, chemical, quarrying and aggregates, steel and pharmaceutical. |
| Operation |
Key exchange: Under normal operating conditions the Isolation key is free, the Personnel key is trapped and the sidebolt is trapped in the lock. The sidebolt can only be released when the Isolation key has been inserted and turned and the personnel key removed. With the sidebolt removed, the Isolation key is trapped within the lock.
Double key: Under normal operating conditions the Isolation key is free, the Personnel key is free and the sidebolt is trapped in the lock. The sidebolt can only be released when both the Isolation key and the personnel key have been inserted. With the sidebolt removed, both keys are trapped within the lock. |

| System Description |
| The removal of the isolation key in the KSS20, isolates the electrical supply to the machine. This key is inserted in the Isolation lock of the AIE interlock, which allows removal of the Personnel key and sidebolt. The personnel key is then taken into the area by the operative to safeguard against accidental lock in or start up. The guard can only be opened when the electrical supply has been switched into a safe condition. |
